Amazon affiliate links

Pet Gear Report participates in the Amazon Associates program. Our product links go directly to Amazon. When you follow an Amazon link, Amazon may set cookies and process information under its own privacy policies.

Affiliate click analytics

We use first-party affiliate click analytics to understand which structured product recommendations readers choose to follow. When you activate an instrumented Amazon product-card, comparison-table, or compare-page link, our site sends a small event to a same-origin Cloudflare Pages Function and stores it in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine.

The custom affiliate-click event contains the page path, the Amazon ASIN, rank when present, placement, content category, marketplace label, and whether the Amazon destination is a product page or search page. Cloudflare Analytics Engine supplies the event timestamp. We do not add a user or session identifier.

Our custom affiliate-click dataset does not store your IP address, User-Agent, cookies, session ID, user ID, referrer, URL query string or fragment, or the Amazon destination URL. Cloudflare still receives network information needed to deliver, secure, and operate the site under its own terms; we simply do not write those network fields into our custom affiliate-click dataset.

Cloudflare Analytics Engine currently retains raw custom event data for three months. Pet Gear Report may keep sanitized daily aggregate reporting for longer. Those aggregate files contain totals and grouped counts rather than individual click events or user identifiers.

Site traffic and hosting

Cloudflare hosts and protects Pet Gear Report and provides aggregate traffic metrics that we use to understand site performance. We use those aggregate metrics separately from the affiliate-click dataset described above.
